The Art Of Love 1963

Work: Fine Arts

Role: Art Director, Painter

In the movie ‘The Art of Love,' it speaks about an artist, Paul Sloane, who struggles in Paris and wants to return home to America and his relationship with his rich fiancee, Laurie. This comedic gold film speaks on the actions and limits people will go to for the love they
are craving.

I wanted to experiment with using my imagination more than my reference image, so I used the infamous piece “Through the Wind” to reference only the body figures to portray the holding position as in the movie. An aura is a supposed emanation surrounding the body of a living creature and is regarded as an essential part of the individual. It is stated that your aura color changes during a relationship; it starts purplish at the beginning of the relationship with lighter and darker tones flowing and gets redder when you're truly in love. I used this to show the love tragedy between Paul and Laurie, as Laurie's aura was purple to show she was falling out of love and going back to square one, while Paul’s was more red to show he was still in love
with Laurie.
