Role: Creative Director and Designer with classmate/partner

For this project, I chose to do a shoe company that both my country and my partners’ hold dearly to their culture, which is Clarks. The connection between Jamaica and Clarks goes way back to the mid-20th century and has been brought up through generations as a staple and a representation of respect.

The idea behind our design takes inspiration from the Jamaican retro style of design for music covers and print ads, which are primarily based on the three colours of the Rastafarian flag: red, green, and gold. We wanted to portray the message that Clarks is not just seen as a special event shoe but rather an “everyday ting.”
